Waste Management, Disposal and Recyling

Re-using & Recycling

UK Green Services regards waste as a resource and we work hard to contribute to a clean and sustainable environment by efficiently managing and recycling the waste collected. All our vehicles are environmentally friendly because we only use LPG fuel.

Simple but effective waste-reducing solutions can stop our reliance on landfill, and make a big difference in our carbon emissions. Re-use or recycle? Just because you don’t want something any more, doesn’t mean that someone else won’t. We are only a phone call away from you to come and collect your items and transfer it to where the best recovery of your unwanted items can be.

It is important that everyone 'does their bit' to help to reduce the amount of rubbish which is sent to landfill each year.

The average family produces one ton of rubbish each year, which is about the same weight as a car.  Below are some suggestions about how you can help.

REDUCE
the amount of waste that you produce.

  • Buy products with minimal packaging, e.g. loose fruit or vegetables rather than pre-packaged
  • Where possible avoid buying disposable items, e.g. biro's, batteries, razors.
  • Refuse extra packaging where possible e.g. carrier bags
  • Consider using reusable nappies - an average baby will use about 5000 disposable nappies. Reusable nappies reduce waste and saves money.
  • Compost your garden waste - see our Composting page.

REUSE items, this will reduce the need to buy new items and save resources.

  • Get a bag habit - reuse carrier bags when you go shopping.
  • Choose reusable / refillable containers.
  • Pass on unwanted household items and clothing to charities.

RECYCLE whatever wastes can be accepted in your local area.

  • Recycling cuts down the need for new resources.
  • A large percentage of your household waste can be recycled, Contact us for your enquiries.
